As a global business, how do we contribute to the betterment of all?
As business owners in Australia, this is a question we have asked ourselves a few times. We decided in December of 2021 that we needed to make a decision. We wanted to contribute to a cause that would help children and adults in difficult (sometimes impossible) situations. It is important to us that our business, Mobile Source Group, makes a difference.
We spent a long time researching and pulling together the information that we had gathered over the years. Having compiled this info we made a decision, and we are pleased to announce that we have now become a member of the B1G1 community.
That means that we have joined over 2500 other businesses that are committed to giving. The “Giving Goals” of B1G1 include:

Being part of this wonderful community means that we can help financially. Automated donations on our business transactions. It also allows us to share this worthwhile and valuable resource with others; we are helping to spread the word. We believe it is a lot more fun giving than receiving and our whole team are involved.
With 450 projects to choose from our biggest challenge is deciding which to align ourselves with initially. We have done this taking three things into account:
- Our vendors’ values
- Our purchasers’ values
- Our values as people and as an organisation
While we have chosen child-centric and hunger-related projects in Australasia, we have also chosen some further afield. Even small donations make a huge impact in some of the countries we are supporting.
We would love to think that through our involvement with B1G1 other businesses will become aware of them. The notion of businesses giving is not a new one, but it is underutilized. We believe partly because business owners don’t know how to go about it.
Building a community and working with businesses in that community of giving is an exciting prospect. It is an environment that encourages generosity, integrity, and shared goals.
